The Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) has issued a strongly worded statement condemning what it called a “brutal and unlawful” attack on its nuclear facilities at Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan in the early hours of Sunday. The organization labeled the incident a blatant violation of international law, particularly the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT).

Following the brutal attacks of the Zionist enemy over the past few days, the enemies of Islamic Iran once again targeted the nation’s nuclear sites in an act that defies international legal norms,” the statement read.

The AEOI accused the United States of being behind the strikes, claiming that the U.S. President had “taken responsibility” for the operation. It further criticized the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) for its alleged indifference, and even complicity, noting that the attacked sites were under IAEA safeguards and regular inspection as part of Iran’s commitments under the NPT.

This action, contrary to international law, was unfortunately carried out in the shadow of indifference and even with the cooperation of the International Atomic Energy Agency,” the statement said.

Iran called on the international community to condemn what it described as “lawlessness based on the rules of the jungle” and to support Iran in asserting its legitimate nuclear rights.
Despite the attacks, the AEOI assured the Iranian public that the country’s nuclear program would not be derailed. “With the efforts of thousands of revolutionary and committed scientists and experts, we will not allow the development of this national industry to be stopped,” the organization affirmed.

It concluded by stating that necessary measures, including legal action, are being pursued to safeguard the rights and sovereignty of the Iranian nation.
