Student Mahmudul Hasan Confesses in Court to Killing Former Jahangirnagar University BCL Leader Shamim Ahmed

Mahmudul Hasan (20), a student, has confessed in court to the killing of Shamim Ahmed, also known as Shamim Molla, a former leader of the Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) at Jahangirnagar University. Shamim was beaten to death in the incident.

The confession was recorded on Monday by Magistrate Zulhasan Uddin of the Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) Court in Dhaka. Following the hearing, Mahmudul was sent to jail.

Sub-Inspector Saiful Islam of Dhaka District Police, who was present at the court, confirmed the information to Prothom Alo.
