Sheikh Hasina Flees to India Amid Student-Public Uprising

On August 5, facing intense pressure from a student and public uprising, Sheikh Hasina fled the country and took refuge in India. Recently, an audio recording of a conversation between the former Prime Minister and a U.S.-based Awami League leader named Tanvir has been leaked.

In the audio, Tanvir can be heard saying:

Tanvir: "Apa (Sister), I called you regarding a matter. Here in New York City, under the leadership of Emdad Bhai, we are holding meetings and rallies."
