Many people start to show signs of aging before they reach their forties. Looking at their dull, dull skin, it seems like the day has come. But even after reaching a certain age, some people look quite young! Why is this so?
There can be various reasons for this. However, the daily lifestyle is mainly responsible for this. More specifically, the beginning of your day, that is, some bad habits in the morning, can make you age faster. Especially the first hour of the morning. A recent article published on Medium.com states that the first hour of waking up can slow down or speed up your aging process. Although it may sound dramatic, it is true. The related article discusses five such mistakes and their solutions.
1. Morning fatigue:
This happens to many of us. Even after sleeping for six to eight hours at night, the body feels heavy. It seems that it would be better to sleep more. This heavy feeling, half-awake, half-asleep state is called 'sleep inertia'. In Bengali, it can be called sleep inertia. In simple terms, the brain lags behind the body. That is, even though your body appears to be awake, the brain is still in a sleepy state. Your brain function can decrease by up to 30 percent in the first 30 minutes of waking up. As a result, you may have confusion in thinking clearly or making decisions in the morning.
What to do
You can do three things to fully awaken your body and mind at the same time.
Move your body. You can take a short walk. Small things like rotating your neck, arms, and legs will help you relieve your stiffness. This will increase blood flow to the brain and activate the muscles.
Splash cold water on your face. This will wake up the nervous system.
Expose your body to sunlight. This natural light will signal your brain that it is morning. It stops the release of melatonin (the sleep hormone) and helps you wake up.
2. Dehydration:
Your body naturally loses water through breathing and sweating during sleep. Most people suffer from mild dehydration after waking up. If you have a habit of drinking tea or coffee instead of water after waking up, then keep in mind that you are suffering from dehydration at the beginning of the day.
What to do
Drink half a liter of water before eating anything else.
Mix a pinch of salt (for electrolytes) or a little lemon juice (for vitamin C and digestion) in it.
You will get more benefits if you mix a little honey. Honey helps in digestion and increases energy.
3. Exercise:
It feels bad to even think about exercising after waking up; but it is a great way to wake up the body and brain and slow down the aging process. It reduces body stiffness. It increases blood circulation in the body, which helps keep the skin glowing.
What to do
Don't be afraid. For this, you are not being told to go to the gym and sweat for hours. Do light exercises for 5-10 minutes. Moving your arms and legs, doing a dozen squats, climbing stairs, or running a little can be enough in this case.
4. Breakfast:
Many people skip breakfast, some people sneak something in their mouths and rush to work. Many people eat breakfast late. None of this is healthy.
What to do
The most important meal of the day is breakfast. Choose foods for breakfast that provide enough energy throughout the day and do not contain excess sugar or fat. This is the real meaning of starting the day with food like a king. This will keep your weight under control and you will be healthy.
5. Antioxidant foods:
There is no comparison to antioxidant-rich foods to slow down aging. It neutralizes free radicals, which prevents cell damage and prevents chronic diseases.
What to do
Include antioxidant-rich foods in your daily diet. Vegetables and fruits are excellent sources of antioxidants. You can eat dark chocolate, almonds, walnuts, green tea. You can also find antioxidants in various vegetable oils including pineapple, grapes, apples, carrots, tomatoes, raisins, corn, olives, dates, red flour, almond oil. Foods rich in vitamins E and C are also good sources of antioxidants.
