Former Rail Minister Nurul Islam (Sujan) has been granted five days of remand for interrogation in connection with the Rafiqul Islam murder case filed at the Jatrabari police station.
The order was given today, Sunday, by Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Saddam Hossain of Dhaka.
The police had requested a 10-day remand after presenting Nurul Islam before the court. Later, Nurul Islam's lawyers filed a bail petition and sought to cancel the remand application. After hearing both sides, the court approved five days of remand for Nurul Islam.
